The Bowen Technique
The Bowen technique is a very gentle soft tissue therapy using gentle rolling actions over soft tissue to stimulate your bodies ability to change. It's non invasive, gentle and each treatment is tailored to your specific needs ensuring you get the best possible care.
What are
the key points
of Bowen?

-
Treatment can be done over light clothing.
-
There is no manipulation or adjustment.
-
It is not a massage.
-
The treatment is gentle, subtle and relaxing. This is what makes the Bowen Technique so unique.
-
The treatment contains short breaks where the client is left resting to allow the body to assimilate the information.
-
Relief is regularly felt immediately.
-
Most cases respond within 48 hours.
-
Chronic conditions may take longer than the average 3-4 sessions. Treatment plans are decided on physical assessment.

What to expect during a treatment session.
-
Most of the moves can be made through light clothing with the client lying, sitting or standing.
-
Pressure applied can be adapted to suit the individual. No deep, prolonged pressure is used.
-
Between each set of moves, there are short pauses or ‘breaks’ which allow the appropriate response to take place within the body.
-
Bowen is generally pleasant and relaxing to receive, with a session
typically lasting between 30-60 minutes.
-
Change is often observed within 3 sessions, although chronic conditions may require ongoing appointments.
-
Bowen is for everybody: new-born babies to athletes, elderly and disabled.
